Fire Marshal Training for Care Homes

Those who manage care homes must conduct fire risk evaluations and ensure their fire safety evaluations are revised regularly. Using these findings, managers must put measures in place to ensure the safety of residents, staff and visitors in the event of a fire. Part of this obligation includes the provision of fire marshal training for care homes for those who work in the care home sector.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 act governs fire safety in the workplace. Article 21 details how employers must provide employees with adequate training in fire safety. They must also appoint a fire marshal, referred to as the “responsible person”. This information must be kept on file where there are five or more employees. Officers who enforce fire safety can make a judgement on whether they are compliant with the Fire Safety Order. This is done by examining the fire safety risk assessment records.

Our fire marshal training has accreditations from both CPD and RoSPA. The training provides learners with knowledge on how prevent fire so responsible officers can make risk assessments. You will learn how to identify and reduce the risk that fire poses while still preparing for fires by having regular fire drills. The course discusses ways to plan full evacuations along with how to oversee a fire emergency.

We will examine current fire safety regulations and how the role of fire marshal fits in. The course moves on to look at safety features and way to familiarise people with these features. We also look at fire extinguishers and how to use them. This course is a comprehensive training guide to set up a fire safety strategy for your organisation.  The content in the course will equip you to handle full fire emergencies.
